DataPoint: A Study on Curve Correction
DataPoint
Interesting new study out of Spine Journal on curve correction and pain. Read it here:
“Is There any Relation Between the Amount of Curve Correction and Postoperative Neurologic Deficit or Pain in Patients Undergoing Standalone Lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusion?” Lykissas, Marios G, et all. Spine Journal. May 24, 2013.
Study Conclusion: There is a strong association between the development of postoperative anterior thigh/groin pain and the amount of coronal curve correction, as well as the increase in lumbar lordosis.
OBSERVATION: Even in post-surgical cases, curves appear to matter.
