Educating Students & Parents on Posture

School is back in session (or right around the corner).  Kids return to the classroom, sitting hunched over desks, computers, and books, carrying heavy backpacks to and fro.

As healthcare providers, we know that this is detrimental to children’s posture and spinal health.  This is why “Back to School” is a prime opportunity to educate students and their parents about the importance of StrongPosture.

Ways To Educate
  1. Host a free screening or posture talk at your local school. Many schools are happy to host health professionals from the community.  Screenings are best done with a posture grid and posture assessment forms so that parents can have that information as a reference later on.  Both portable grids and posture assessment forms can be found on www.PostureZone.com.  Whether you do a screening, or just visit a school to talk about posture, you provide students with tips on how they can improve their posture during their formative years.

  2. Hold a Back to School party at your clinic. Have some fun activities for the whole family, and offer to take posture pictures of the young ones.  Share with the whole family how this picture can be a tool to improve posture from youth to adulthood.

  3. Post or distribute this FREE article flyer at your clinic! It is a great resource for parents on the importance of strengthening posture.  This PDF file has customizable fields at the bottom of the flier for you to include info about Back-to-School promotions, contact information for your clinic, or whatever you choose!
