Move Well, Age Well
Staying active and exercising really does keep you young, physically as well as cognitively. A new aging and exercise study in the Journal of Physiology found physical decline doesn’t necessarily have to go along with increasing age. The key conclusion in this study of long distance cyclists aged 55-79 echoes what many of us are saying: You have to stay active as you age to stay active as you age.
PosturePractice takeaway: How you move will affect how active you can be. If you use spinal manipulation, muscle therapy or exercise, work to keep motion full range and symmetrical to maximize muscle fiber population engagement.
Bottom Line: You have to move well as you age to move well as you age.
